Yes. Many families settling a parent's home here live in Toronto, Ottawa or further away, and you don't need to make the drive. We can do your walkthrough by video call (FaceTime, Zoom or WhatsApp), email you a written plan and quote, and arrange keys with you, a neighbour or your realtor. Keepsakes, photos and papers are set aside for the family, you get photo updates at each stage, and we finish with a video tour of the empty, clean house. Payments can be made online. Call or text 705-559-4806 to book a video walkthrough.
Estate cleanouts, estate liquidation through online estate auctions, senior downsizing, long-term care move help (packing and moving a parent within Ontario's 5-day window), cottage clear-outs, standard and deep home cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, light property upkeep, junk removal and repair coordination. We can help with one piece of a transition or all of it.
Most estate cleanouts in our area cost about $1,000 to $3,500 or more, depending on the size of the home, how full it is and your timeline. When items sell at online auction, the money raised often covers a good share of the cost. Labour is $45/hour, online auctions are 10% of what items sell for, and junk removal starts at $150. You always get a written quote after the free walkthrough, before any work begins.
Every estate cleanout starts with a free, no-obligation walkthrough, where we assess the property and put together a written plan. From there we sort the contents room by room, identify anything of value for liquidation, coordinate donation and recycling for the rest, remove what's left, and finish with a full clean — leaving the property ready for its next step, whether that's listing, closing, or a new occupant.
Nothing is simply thrown away by default. Items with resale value typically go through our estate liquidation process; anything that doesn't sell, along with other unwanted household items, is donated wherever possible. Only what genuinely can't be sold or donated is responsibly disposed of or recycled.
Yes. Before paid work begins, we ask for written proof of your authority to deal with the contents, usually the Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee or the Will naming you as executor. If you're helping a living parent downsize or move, we'll ask for their Power of Attorney for Property instead. This protects you, the estate and the family.
It depends on the size of the home, how much needs to be sorted, and whether liquidation, cleaning, or repairs are part of the job. Smaller projects may take a day or two, while larger estates can take longer. During your free walkthrough, we can give you a more realistic timeline based on the property and your deadlines.
Yes. We handle cottage contents clear-outs in the Kawarthas, Bancroft and North Hastings. We sort, sell, donate and haul it away, even if you're out of town, with a free walkthrough (in person or by video call) and a written quote before any work begins. See our cottage clear-outs →
